Join our team to help District youth achieve their goals and gain valuable teaching experience!

Kid Power Volunteer Opportunities:
  • Academics: Tutoring, reading, test prep, homework help
  • Enrichment: Teaching or assisting on one of our many enrichment classes. Share your passion for art, drama, dance, poetry, yoga, cooking, athletics, or gardening.
  • In addition to these informal opportunities, Kid Power does have several formal internship opportunities available.
Kid Power is a non –profit organization that provides after-school and summer programs approximately 350 youth in underserved communities throughout the District.

Kid Power provides youth with the academic, civic, and nutritional tools they need to become tomorrow’s leaders. We support youth as they learn to think critically, make healthy choices, and advocate for positive change in their communities and in themselves.

Please note: Kid Power provides after-school programs at 11 program sites that are all metro and bus accessible. There are volunteer opportunities with Elementary and Middle School youth during 3:30-6:00 time frame and with high school students during later evening hours. Kid Power can also arrange weekend one-on-one tutoring opportunities.
